Hi all,
kbuildsycoca is giving problems, this thing is suppose to pick up the
path settings to the plugins. If I run it as user I get:
$ kbuildsycoca
QPixmap: Cannot create a QPixmap when no GUI is being used

Hej Barry,
OK, don't hate me for this, but I have a 20" Apple display that I
use with my 15" 1.25GHz Albook. Yaboot correctly appears on the display
when I power up the unit with the lid closed and the display plugged
in. I have even booted to the console, and it works fine, too.
I a

hi!
I am new here, recently got an old ibook from an ex-colleague because
she 'could not use word in it' (sigh, but at the same time very happy
with the ibook).
So after some hesitations, I finally decided to give it a go (I do not
even have an mac os 9 install cd just in case) I downloaded the w
If i had to choose i'd give
kernel-image-2.6.6-power3 - Linux kernel image for 2.6.6-power3
a try.
But i like to compile my own kernels :)
if you'd like that, rsync the source from source.mvista.com
with; rsync -avz --delete source.mvista.com::linuxppc::linuxppc-2.5-benh
/usr/src/2.6/

Bad idea. POWER3 processors are built into a number of IBM RS/6000
boxen. An iBook will run -powerpc or -powerpc-smp. The latter
doesn't have any particular

Hi,
three weeks ago I've bought the recently released new IBook
(12", 1GHz. 768MB Ram, ATI Radeom M9+). After installing both OS X
(10.3) and Debian ("testing") it took me a couple of sleepless nights
and reading ton's of documentation to get it running under linux.
Main problem was getting the

Hi everybody,
I tried to install Woody on an old (2001) iMac. The installation went fine, until I was asked to reboot. When I rebooted, yaboot said that it could not load hd:3, /vmlinux, for it is an "Unknown or corrupt filesystem."
I tried booting from the installation disc, but that failed.
