Re sysklogd package broke my root login today.
syslogd and klogd were not running on my powerpc because
I prefer the rc.inet1, rc.inet2 scripts and had not corrected
the pathnames from /usr/sbin to /sbin.
As soon as I did turn them on root was unable to login, though
other users could. Nor was I

I'm new to this list, so I'll be asking the obvious questions I guess.
It seems to me that debian powerpc is a more up to date system than
the linux/ppc distribution, using glibc 2.1. The problem is that I have

Sure, read the archive of debian-devel. Please use the -30 release, that
