THe others I think have given you the correct answer as with client side
rendering for ttf. But your unix path is wrong. xfs-xtt uses 7110 port,
not 7100. This is really annoying and should be fixed when updating
XF86C
Thanks. The libfreetype6 package was updated last night and an
apt-get update/upgrade this morning has fixed it.

I noticed it after an apt-get update/upgrade. At
first, my X log was showing that it could no longer connect to the
FontPath"unix/:7100".
