Yes, but no 3D ac

I thought it wasn't detecting the extra RAM correctly, but it apparently
is. The board in this system has an 8 MB daughtercard, so yes, it has more
than 8. My mistake.

Michel,
I think they are confusing the DefaultDepth you
set in XF86Config-4 with bpp. I have...
DefaultDepth 24
with agpgart/dri loaded from benh's current kernel
and my XFree86 log shows...
(**) R128(0): Using AGP 2x mode
(--) Depth 24 pixmap format is 32 bpp

Ok, after a fact-check, I've found that the video board in this system has
an 8 MB upgrade daughterboard, so it in fact has 16 MB, not 8. I'm stupid.

I'd agree, except I'm sitting in front of the system right now. I'm
running @ [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a PCI Rage128 RE in this G3 tower.

The Rage128RE in this G3 tower has 8 MB, and I can do DRI at 1152x864 in
24bpp. The M3 that's in the iBook2 should be able to do it at 1024x768, I
would think.

Hardware. There's not enough VRAM to do DRI

The way
Did you try 16 bit mode?

Hi
I was wondering how far hardware acceleration is implemented on ibook2.
I was able to compile my 2.4.17-pre8-ben0 kernel agpgart, Apple UniNorth
and DRI (ATI Rage 128) support.
The acceleration results have been quite poor so far.
Does anybody have an idea how fast it should be by now - for ex
