Ok, so I added the devfs=nomount option, and it booted fine. Once it
started, ethernet worked fine as well. Now if I get X configured, my
install is finished. :) Thanks guys.

Your're missing this file in /dev. Did you select to mount devfs
automatically on boot
I just changed my kernel, and I had the same problem. It seems that
you can get at it from /dev/discs/disc0/part11 or so. I had to change
/etc/fstab.
