Around Ubuntu there are developing some Usermode bootsplashes which you
should check out.
One is Splashy/UPower ->

It's not as nice as the 'native' bootsplashes (yet) but already much
nicer than scrolling white text

This repository does not contain binaries for powerpc. Moreover, I am
not sure that bootsplash works on PowerPC.

Hi,
have anyone bootsplash working on his ppc? I got the source from
bootsplash.de, compiled it with no problem but dpkg can't install it.
dpkg: error processing bootsplash (--install):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 10
Anyone out there who got it working

Actually I'd prefer a nice suspend-support so I wont have to boot ever
again ;)

AFAIK, it doesn't work on powerpc. I read this on the Gentoo forums some
time ago, might have changed.

Hey,
anybody got bootsplash running on an powerpc(esp. ibook w. ati12rage)?
I to apply the patch to 2.4.21, which did not work at all. So I tried
2.4.20, that worked but the kernel was not compiled error-free.
Then I found this package "kernel-patch-lpp". Tried that. Wont work.
