It took me a while to figure that out, but now i finally got it. It appears
that the locale command puts out a LANG variable of en_US.ISO-8859-15. I
changed it to en_US, and it works. It works with all the language settings,
but you have to remove the .ISO-8859-15 part.

The problem seems to be linked to the "LANG" environment variable (type
'env | grep LANG' to see the one you have setup).
When I run gnome with french language (fr_FR-ISO-), xine doesn't
start with the error :
xiTK DIE: create_labelofbutton()@121: xitk_font_load_font() failed.

Ok. Here's the patch against recent 0.91 mplayer. Please apply it in the
mplayer-directory: patch -p1 < ../MPlayer-0.91-korseby-ppc.patch
After that, do:
