You are probably running OFfb instead of aty128fb in console. Don't use
video=ofonly or similar, in fact not specifying any video argument should
give
you aty128fb if I'm not mistaken.
You can run X with 'video=ofonly', however, the video modes that MacOS/OF
has set up for you should
