I never used hotplug. i just loaded configured the kernel rebooted ;-) plugged
the speakers and loaded the module

Try getting things to work without the usb-hotplugging stuff first (try
warm booting to linux from osx with the speakers plugged in), in my
experience the usb-hotplu

know how to get them running under linux!
