No, it isn't gcc2.95, it is the kernel, the 2.2.x one. 2.3.x will boot, but
the curent kernel versions are so buggy with so many compile errors :-((

another data point: chrp appears to have problems with the new gcc.
using franz sirl's gcc 2.95.2 (0h), 2.2.12 (specifically, cort's 19990903
snapshot) fails to boot on the ibm f50 i'm using.
it gets stuck after printing "instantiating rtas... done" but before it
manages to initialize the framebu

Was someone able to build a working 2.2.10 kernel for APUS with 2.95.2?

Of course it was overwritten by the 2.95.1 gcc. This is one thing
I don't like so much in debian: You cannot get older packages, if you
did not keep them for yoursel

Hm. egcs isn't available for potato - at least not as an easily to spot
package ...

Use egcs-1.1.2. gcc 2.95.x did never work for mw compiling kernels for
APUS either.
I'm using GCC as part of Potato (1999/10/29) on my PowerBook (G3 Series
Lombard). Since about 1999/09/24 (my last working kernel) I haven't
been able to successfully boot a new kernel. I've been using Paul
Mackerras's archive (rsync samba.anu.edu.au::linux-pmac-stable) the
whole time. My 1999/09
