I've attached the results from grep drm /var/log/kern.log and also
the last X log file when 16bits was used.
When I removed Load "dri", the X log showed that drm was disabled.
When I removed Option "UseFBDev", the server would break and return
to console.

No, I'm afraid I don't have an X 4.1 log file. I'm using the stock
kernel 2.4.21 provided by Debian unstable.
