Basic X support is easy as long as you use the good X server.
Basically you need the one from the DRI project which is kindly packaged
for debian by Michel Daenzer.
The screen resolution should not a problem.

cool with Apple is that there is not a lot of different hardware solution,
wich should ease the problem solving. Anyway...
