I sometimes had it working (just a big larsen, I must say) after awaking
from a sleep: but it happened on kernels 2.4.20 2.4.25.

I booted at 9:34 and at 10:29 something happened... is it normal to get such
messages after boot process?
I am running sarge with the standard kernel-image-2.6.8-powerpc and standard X,
with DRI enabled and 16 bpp.

77 (as root) /dev/null did not solve the problem.
In my case /dev/null had become (nobody knows how) a standard file, so
many programs couldn't write on it and the just stopped.
Check your permissions, and in case restore /dev/null as should.
