When I modprobe dmasound_pmac on my iBook2, it locks my
computer. I am using the stock 2.4.16-newpmac kernel.

It worked for me after installing kernel-image-2.4.12-powerpc.
Unfortunately, there is some kind of video driver bug which causes
character duplication in some ncurses programs. Are there plans
to package a more recent kernel?
