Folks-
Would someone with a ppc G5 machine (preferrably an Xserve G5) running
debian testing or unstable 'cat' their /proc/ioports and send it to me?
There is area of memory that is marked as 'reserve memory io' on my system
(running opensuse 10.2, 2.6.16-20) that is preventing me from loading th
pardon if this is a dumb question, but does anyone know what archs use
the 8250 driver that would be good choices for a test?
Thanks,

I can't really fix this myself, because I can't get a working debian
installation
to do it on. Anyone have a workaround?
Thanks,
Toni

Sven
I tried this latest netboot64 image, but I get the same behavior as with
the 2006-04-23 image, which I submitted a bug report for (bug 364637).
The boot hangs at 'Trying to im_free nonexistent area (d800820d7000)'
In the bug report, I included the whole console log.

Do you use serial console, or do you have a graphics card in your Xserve?
Also, it appears that the last daily image from 4/1 does not include SATA
drivers, which are needed for installing on an Xserve.

Hi
I am trying to figure out why the mini.iso (2.6.16-1 kernel) I tried
to install yesterday on my Xserve G5 hung. The last log entries
printed before the hang were:

Hi-
Will the qla2300 driver be included in etch? If not, is there an

I tried the mini.iso at

Hi-
I attempted to install the powerpc64 netinst version of debian testing
from 3/1/06 on a headless Xserve G5 cluster node via external firewire cd.
The installation went fine up to the point of detecting the cd drive, at
which point no driver could be found. I went into a shell and tried to
