I'm thinking of tuning my Powerbook G3 Pismo a bit and thought to by
myself a DVD-writer to replace the original DVD-ROM. Theres plenty of
them on ebay
As I can order this only from overseas (US) and thats quite expensive,
and I don't think I can return them, I thought I start with

My problem is how to tell debian/ubuntu linux to use the hostap drivers
instead of hermes/orinoco dirvers, so I got master mode available.

printer. I copied the configuration for Cups from my G3 Powerbook Pismo,
which works fine with the same printer. Now I get Error -15 from usblp0
if I try to print on this device. Has anyone any suggestions?

XORG works just fine, so I atteched my xorg.conf file.

I run Ubuntu Hoary on a G3 Powerbook Pismo with 400 MHz CPU ,630 MB Ram,
30 Gigs Harddisk, Orinocco Wlan Card,.. and I'd like to improve the
performance of the system, as much as possible.

I'm not too sure, but I think I took the kernel from the install cd, if
I'm right there was an oldworld directory.
The kernel was 2.4, so everything was fine. I also tried to switch to
2.6 kernel
Could you discuss 4) with me? And if it is off list it's ok too. I let's
say hypotheticall that I got a laptop which I wan't a good operationg
system to run on and for me that's linux. All I need is 4) the

Wallstreet and still can't figure out how I can get PCMCIA running.
I've found Kernel Patches for PCMCIA support for 2.4.18 but for new
