If you swap the physical location of your hard drives around so that
your primary drive is sitting in the secondary drive bay - do you
still experience problems?
When I was trying to install, Yaboot refused to boot into Debian
unless it's partition was located on the primary disk.

I am using Debian unstable and recently upgraded the kernel to
2.6.15-1-powerpc65. I noticed that firewire support seems to be broken
as my iPod would no longer mount.
After googling a little I found that "modprobe sbp2" should insert one
of the correct module to enable firewire support.

I am using the prebuilt 2.6.11-power4-smp kernel and have used apt to get alsa.
Using alsaconf to set up sound support (or using "modprobe
snd-powermac") I get the following error message:
