This should be
/dev/hda2 Apple_Bootstrap bootstrap 65536 @ 64 ( 32.0M) HFS
or something, but it's way too large (800kb is the recommended size)

The "best" way would probably be to put "exit 0" on the second line of
/etc/init.d/[gxw]dm.

By default it is "/vmlinux" (and "vmlinux.old" for the old kernel).
If you use kernel-package (make-kpkg) for your kerne

You can configure X on your iMac in 2 ways:

Today I discovered that my iMac has problem with NFS and/or the network
driver.
When doing TCP-transfers all is fine, but when doing heavy NFS stuff
(loads of UDP, "./configure && make" on a medium-size project triggers
the hang 90% of the time, for example), the network card suddenly stops

I run Debian on my iMac all the time.
gcc, g++ and as work fine.

Is there a way to change screen parameters (brightness, contrast, etc.)
in Linux on an iMac?
My background (which should be black) is currently way too bright.

Read the docs in
I've been having problems with newer kernels and sound on my rev. D iMac.
On a pre-built 2.2.14pre9 everything works fine, but with all newer kernels
(rsyncing and plain) all the dmasound driver tells me is
'DMA Sound Driver: Interrupt initialization failed'
The latest kernels I tried were 2.2.
9 and debian works fine on my ppc...

I can't build kernels on my Imac. If they succeed building at all, (something
in pmac_setup.c is wrong), whey won't boot.
I want is a kernel which recognises the wheel on my Logitech MouseMan Wheel
USB (and the relevant part of XF86Config).
