well... the layout is very confuse and not utilizable at all under X
and console.

$ rec -f s file1.wav (this is working in my pbook g3)
and play with:
$ play file1.wav
From the gnome mixer i have try to checked too the Rec field, without
success.

and the dmesg write:

At work I use OSX, but last month I have installed Darwin in a test
machine delusion!! :-(

I my machine, X do not start at all.
I'm not expert in PPC machine, but I suspect that you have some conflict with
gpm. Try to disintall gpm.

Today a new "clean" installation on a G3... but vncserver not work.. :-(
Note too that in debian i386 2.2 with the same installation... vncserver
work very very fine.
Any workaround for PPC?
