Hi.
I own an iBook 2.2 900 MHz and did some testing with your recent patches.
Thermal management is somewhat better as before (2.6.8). My iBook isn't getting
much hot anymore. btw: I'm using cpudynd to control cpu speed.
X doesn't work. I only see some wierd flickering when starting X.

Hello.
First, where can I get the latest bk snapshot of the kernel ? Or is the
latest -rc2 enough ?
Can anyone send me a working .config to test the patches ? Somehow any
of my self-compiled 2.6 kernels won't boot. Don't know the reason...

Hello.
Does anybody know of a live-cd for powerpc ? (Maybe a ported Knoppix version or
a less bloated or less colourful version ?)
I want to demonstrate someone that linux is a good alternative to OSX.

Hello.
I've been hammered with those emails since 2 weeks. The reason was most
probably lkml (linux kernel mailing list). Some people have not noticed that
their windos machines are sending out stuff all the time. The only way to get
rid of those junk is to configure fetchmail that it won't fet

Maybe as user you're not allowed to start X ? You can use login managers such
as xdm, gdm or kdm for this.

Ok. Here's the patch against recent 0.91 mplayer. Please apply it in the

After that, do:

Hello.
Compared to OSX my iBook 900MHz is getting really hot. I'm using
2.4.21-ben2 currently, but a vanilla kernel is even worse.
According to /proc/cpuinfo temperature is in normal range. There
is no big difference if I descale cpu frequency to 400 MHz.

Find out the keycode via "showkey -s" and map it:
"setkeycode e05e 84".
"dumpkeys" will show the current map btw.
That will not work on my iBook but does work

Isn't DRM disabled for ppc on 2.4 kernels ? So how can I use acceleration for
games at all ?

So in brevity:
What I really wanted to know is how can I be sure that my -ben5
kernel is the same as on the internet ? Since Bitkeeper trees are

Hello.
Could someone tell me if the latest 2.4.21-ben is out ? I'd really like to see
a patch or something similar against vanilla 2.4.21 because I want to follow
changes during releases. Right now only a bk-rsync is possible where I never
know what version I'm using.
