Hi everyone,
My brother just bought a nice PowerBook G4 (latest model), but he didn't
get sound to work correctly (with alsa). It's really strange, sound work
on the output line but not on the HP :(
If you need further informations, don't hesitate.
Thanks

'll d/ld 2.4.20-ben10 tonight, hopefully usb mouse and
keyboard support will have been built-in so i can temporarily plug in a us
english keyboard. It's no fun trying to work w/o symbols such as
greater/lesser than, pipe etc.

Hello,
I‘m trying to install (change to) kernel 2.4.20-ben10 on
my mac 7300/180 which is already running “woody“ on a 2.2
kernel. Apparently i need a 2.4 kernel to mount/use a usb
pen drive (also good practice to install woody on my ibook).
After downloading the kernel-image, setting group/permi

using "woody" and the 2.2 kernel. Certain mixers however don't. I use aumix.

Same thing happens here (Mac 7300). I log out again using
control-alt-delet
most certainly a silly question but /etc/debian_version says : 2.2 and
/var/log/gdm/:0.log and /var/log/xdm.log say : Operating System: Linux
2.4.0-test13-pre2 ppc [ELF].
which one is it ? do i care ? (i'm considering moving from potato to
woody and wondering which kernel to install, 2.2 or 2.
Hi,
I am installing Debian GNU/Linux Potato on an old mac.
I instaled the base system and then rebooted the system in order to continue
the install.
Unfortunately, the system does not boot and just show a floppy with a question
mark.
Any clue ?
Thanks,
JM

Hi,
I want to install woody on a 'G4 Server 500' which has an Adaptec 2950's card.
I have tried to boot with netinst (20020215) woody for PPC and also with the CD
1 of woody (kernel 2.4.16, January).
With Netinst, the kernel 2.4 seems to miss in the iso. I can only boot with the
2.2, but I can
I'm running Xfree3x and have tried both 15 & 16, as to passing kernel
arguments they get joyously ignored (video=controlfb:vmode:17,cmode:15).
As to using Woody, that's what i had ordered from the "official" Debian
cd reseller and was told he couldn't fill the order (unavailable, too
