Hey, Took out my PowerMac G4 and installed Debian again. The install went smooth with the exception of the grub install. Got through that and it booted perfectly. I installed the nonfree firmware and the amd graphics package. When I rebooted the system froze. In the past I would put the kernel

I was testing the Debian image from ports.debian.org and noticed that only the 'main' repo is available and not 'contrib' and 'non-free'. I do not recall if this was already mentioned but will ISOs in ports ever get those packages?

I do not know if anyone else is having this issue but if you make any changes to yaboot.conf and try up date the bootloader with 'ybin -v' and reboot, the system will not start. I needed reinstall Jessie set up my yaboot.conf the way I wanted it updated the bootloader and then upgrade to Stretch. I

I noticed this in mesa 11.0.3 *release notes * that the radeon r300 *bug *has been fixed. However both Debian Sid and Lubuntu 16.04 are running versions of mesa 11.0.4 and I am still seeing the issue.

Xorg bug

In Stretch and Sid the latest package of xorg-core fixed the bug that hit PPC machines that run the latest version of X in Ubuntu and Debian. I do not know if this has made it down stream to Ubuntu. Checking now.

I just recently upgraded to 8.1 and now in order to get lxde to load I need to drop to console and startx. Anyone else having to do the same thing?
