The same bug also happens with a clean 2.4.18 kernel-source tree,

to hang on the ide driver, but *if* I boot MacOS from OF, then aferwards
Linux will boot fine.

Hi
I'm having trouble getting a custom-compiled kernel to work on a G4
450Mhz SMP Mac. I first tried the 'kernel-image-2.4.18-powerpc-smp'
package, but this didn't work as I needed the AIC7XXX driver compiled

Squid uses libpthread heavily, and I wonder if there's any issue with
PPC SMP suport and kernel threads?
Would I be better trying squid 2.3 (from unstable)?
Any info/help much appreciated,
