Hi,
If I don't have my head too far up my arse yet, I think this might
interest quite a few people (ie. not me).

Am I on the right track ?

us at
any time ? Is it dangerous when having 2 devices on the same IDE channel
(both CD-Rom and HD are on the first channel on this machine) ? And if
it's not dangerous at any time, why isn't it enabled by default ? ;)
"We need some IDE experts here" ;)

However if you know a good way of getting the Linux keycode (maybe the
event devices ?), I'm up for adding support for it to the powermac-utils
(that I'll package some day soon).

ot; ? I would expect hitting the same key twice with the ADB keycodes
to print the same thing twice to the screen ;)

The trackpad utility in the powerpc-utils package can ch
idn't do
audio-grabbing before either. Gordon, what's the name of the drive as
reported by dmesg (the complete name) or /proc/ide/hdb/model ?
If it's a:
$ cat /proc/ide/hdb/model
MATSHITADVD-ROM SR-8176
grab a recent kernel, it's fixed already.

Your computer is too slow. MacOS has drivers for hardware Motion
Compensation and iDCT, Linux doesn't. I still haven't found the miracle
solution (which probably is "get better hardware").
