Thanks a lot for your response.
After quite a few tests I'm still stuck with a non-loading root
partition.
That is, I get to the first boot prompt from where I can choose to
start a CD, Linux or OS X. Both the CD and OS X can be booted. Linux
doesn't boot.

I am trying to use amarok 1.92 from experimental on my ibook with Debian sid +
KDE packages from experimental.
When I launch amarok, I get right after the splash screen the following error:

The Debian install CD (Etch) does not have dumpe2fs - which normally
should yield information of the partition backup sup

I'm using debian lenny on ibook PPC G3 800 Mhz with ram 256 MB (ver. 2002).
I wanna to use linux-image-2.6.26-1-powerpc (32 bit) kernel, but sungem driver
works very bad. It's works only in my Local area network, insted it doesn't
works out of lan.
