I bought a Blue White rev 1 and it doesn't even do OS X ;-(
I see that linux does install sometimes, but only with one
64Mb memory chip or so...
Yesterday my Apple dealer gave me 2 128Mb SDRAM,
to no avail ...
Memory in the G5 is precious too ..

go grab the installer iso, burn it to disc and drop it into the cdrom
either tell your mac to boot to it (in osx) and then reboot
or hold down c when you turn on your pc
you can also do a media free installation.

I bought an iMac G5 with the sole intention of dual booting Linux;
however, I'm not too Linux savvy and have postponed the installation
until now (I bought the machine late June). I'm primarily an OS X guy
and have only run Linux on old x86 boxes.
Would it be asking too much of you if I were to as
Roger.
I suspect that some argument variables not being available is the result
of optimization or normal program flow.

Has anybody succesfully booted that kernel? I get lots of "format errors" while trying
to load modules. And then, at the end it just blocks, it says something like "waiting for
/dev/sda to come up" and that's it.
Have you built a 64 bits kernel ?
I used apt-get form unstable, yes the powe

Hi all
Just a short informational
I recently upgraded this quicksilver g4/800 to debian. One of the big
plusses was the onboard cdr. Running a standard debian install with a
stock 2.6.8 kernel I found xcdroast problematic. K3b proved utterly
faultless. I recommend K3b to anyone in a simil

Ahhh, so we have to run that hid2hci tool to turn it back into an HCI ?

I'm keen to find a kernel with the new appletouch driver built in :-).

Has anybody succesfully booted that kernel? I get lots of "format errors" while trying
