NewWorld Macs" to install debian linux for powerpc on an iMac G3.
The 4 files ( yaboot, yaboot.conf, root.bin, linux.bin ) have been
copied to the root level of the hard drive.

Probably the ram you bought is faulty. Since I don't know of anything
like http://www.memtest86.com/ for ppc you probably should put the
module in a x86 box and run memtest to see for yourself.

More specifically...
PPLL_REF_DIV holds the reference divider for the pixel clock PLL
(though the register has a weird format on >= r300)
PPLL_DIV_{0..3} holds the forward and feedback dividers for that PLL,
(feedback divider in bits 0..10 and post div in bits 16..18)
the CLK_CNTL_INDEX bits 8..

I'm having some problems with Debian on an iBook G4. I've installed
SID, but sound is not working. Kernel doesn't find any sound hardware.
ALSA does not find any, as well.
