I have a slow powerpc mac and a fast i386 machine. I know how to
crosscompile the kernel on the i386 (just change ARCH and CROSS_COMPILE
variables in the top Makefile) and do "make zImage" but then I must
move all the modules to the ppc by hand. Better way is to crosscompile
it using make-k

They're in Applications -> Desktop Preferences -> Keyboard, and then in the
Layout Options tab. However, I don't think any of those options do what you

Hmm, can't find the keyboard settings for gnome and the two examples
previously send for xmodmap resulted in apple key being mapped to the
TAB key. Are there any other alternatives?

add the macintosh sound module to your kernel. do a modconf and look for
dmasound - there are 2 modules i think

i installed debian on B&W G3 after a great struggle and now i had even
started X and runing Gnome in it. I updated it to testing/sarge with the
command apt-get upgrade and dist-upgrade and now i have gnome 2.6 and kde 3.2
both runing were well. The only problum is with the sound on
