Now I either get no printers can be found or Mozilla and Firefox crash
after looking as though they are about to print.

Sorry guys it's me again.
I've been trying to install pbbuttonsd on my iBook (G3) and every time I
try to install it I get the following error:
invoke-rc.d: initscript pbbuttonsd, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing pbbuttonsd (--configure):

I'm not used to having to ask this sort of question, but has anyone
actually been able to finish an install with d-i on a G5? I just
got a dual 2.0 G5 (the original model, not the new one) and I can't
get the installer to work. I've tried beta4, tc1, and a daily
sid_d-i for 7/4. They all fail in m

First, thanks for all the advice on other issues, I now have a working ibook.
My problem now is merely that I can not get the thing to standby or suspend in
the way I would expect on an x86 laptop, I have installed apm but cannot seem
to call it in a way which succeeds. Searching the internet is

Is there a known problem with DMA for CD and DVD drives with the 2.6.6
kernel?
On my G3 iBook (600MHz) I am getting very high CPU usage with copying
from a DVD or CD, "cp /dev/hdb /dev/null" results in 100% CPU usage with
about 80% being "iowait". hdparm indicates that DMA is enabled. I also
get v
