Eventually successfull installation of Sarge on the
F50.
After few tries I found that auto-boot can be done
using a PReP partition.
So I think you can leave the vfat out of the initrd
and try to put the option of creating PReP partiton.

Having my iBook2.2 with a CD recorder and 2.6.3-ben2, when I try to burn a CD
the keyboard gets stuck.
Furthermore, when connecting from another machine to perform a reboot, the
system just gets trashed, and i have to do a cold-reset.
The configuration for the kernel has been set to that I do
when i try to compile latest kernel it fails to compile alsa and crypto
modules. possibly i misconfigured sth. (took old config from workin
2.6.1-rc1-ben1).
or maybe i need to download some sources for alsa and crypto?
