I'm guessing you're running it in X, using 16bpp depth? Unfortunately,
you have 3 options.

You are welcome to consolidate these into a single driver allowing
userland access to those values & finer thermal control :) A bit
like Colin Leroy did for the recent models ...

Hi Patrick, Luther, all
I'm trying the same on a 7025-f50 box.
Till now I've burned the file
vmlinuz-chrp-rs6k-di-beta3-2004.03.16 on a CD using
ISO format - therefore file named vmlinuz (I'm not
sure if other formats will boot)
On the OF prompt:

Take a look at the nubus-pmac project on SourceForge.

The Performa 6300 is listed as a supported model. Since this is a
NuBus based Macintosh, it doesn't have OpenFirmware (which is only
on PCI based Macs). This would explain quite well why it ignores

Yes, it looks similar to bug 236187.
A matching XF86config file and X log are attached.
Let me know what I can do to help.

I've noticed that the fan is started according to a much higher
temperature when using linux (2.6.3-ben2) w.r.t mac os x. (for instance
if I reboot on macosx after compiling my kernel, fan is started
immediately)
Does somebody have a hints of what rules this ? Is there a parame

Hi all,
New to the list but not new to the archives, google and any place else I
could think of trying to find an answer.
I've seen some discussion on this list regarding RS6K CHRP boxes and it
doesn't really give me guidance how to successfully boot & install

I have a Performa 6300/120 currently with MacOS on
it.
I have put the required files (yaboot etc) in the
root of the HDD.
When I try to get the OpenFirmware prompt, (apple
option o f) it just ignores it and goes to MacOS.
Suggestions ?
thanks in advance
Richard

I have a ppc64 system with Debian woody(32 bit ppc port). I have updated my
