Does anyone know what this could be about?
sshd[883]: syslogin_perform_logout: logout() returned an error
PAM-env[908]: Unable to open config file: Permission denied
Please CC replies to me as I am no longer on this list (too much
interesting traffic to distract me ;)
OK.
Kernel is ready :)))
After the first error in my previous message I got 2 more of them.
My solution to this was to find the kernel compile options that
I thought were related to the errors and unset them.
I'm not a coder, so this was all I could do.
Following the errors how they showed

Back in 1996-97, Apple made the Network Server 500 and
I forgot the most important part :)
after you change those lines, run (as root)
apt-get update
and then
apt-get dist-upgrade
and you're done

You have to edit the file /etc/apt/sources.list
Where you have this:
deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian/ stable main non-free contrib
replace 'stable' with 'testing' or 'unstable', like this
deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian/ unstable main non-free contribhh
Do this in all the lines you hav
I hate to display my ignorance but I am stumped by a very simple thing.
I have woody installed on a new world imac. I want to upgrade to
testing or unstable but I cannot find where to
indicate the release. I have a 686 machine that I upgraded to unstable
and in that version the target release
Hi,
My factory default B&W G3 spanish keyboard is not supported by the
XFree86 installer. I solve this manually loading a .Xmodmap created from
scratch. However, my XFree86 from unstable uses something called XKB, so
my .Xmodmap is not automatically loaded at startup.
How can I tweak the XKB

Hi all
I'm trying to build my own 2.4.21-ben2 kernel, and it seems I've messed up
my kernel .config file that I edited for the build. The file is here:
http://www.geocities.com/wolfgangpfeiffer/config.txt
The kernel builds without any error AFAICS if I don't change the default
.config file as sh

Me too. I'm not one to get indignant often, but what's the point of having
ppc support in 2.6 if it's not actually a supported config? Better to
declare that

Anyone managed to compile this, or know what the status is (supposed?) to be?
It fails very badly on my config, for a string of issues.
First of all, ppc (or powerpc)/time.c had dumb troubles, something like:
long num_nsecs;
and then, a few lines later:
int num_nsecs;
Fixing that worked
