Yeah, the 9600 has two SCSI busses, but I have already tried swapping
them around, and insuring that there were not two of the same ID on
either bus. The results are the same. The kernel seems to recognize
both busses, and detects all of the devices on each, so I think the

Compile a kernel from benh and install pbbuttonsd and powerprefs on it.

Greetings,
I've been having pretty poor luck with kernel compiles recently... I'm
working ATM on trying to build 2.4.20 with the benh patch on a stock
Sarge system (an iMac 266). The compile fails with this:
gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/kernel-source-2.4.20/include -Wall

I have to set some hdparm timeout manually (I assume I have to ...)..
Any reasonable values ?

I see no difference in the sound driver between -ben9 and -ben10 that would
affect this machine. Note that the module warning is usually harmless,
especially if you have sound built-in.
Ben.
Hi all,
As a veritable newbie (at least in comparison) to Linux, I would like some
suggestions as to how one goes about
investigating system crashes. I have set up a couple of systems which generally
run fine. However, today one of my

xf86config is also on the powerpc debian. I have it on my machine.

There is a lot of documentation that comes with the distribution or
you could go straight to the powerpc port installation manual on the

try /usr/X11R6/bin/xf86config

I recently put a box to run as a mail gateway, so it has to run all

What I tried is issuing 'hdparm -S /dev/hda' and getting

Hello,
I recently installed Debian v3.0r1 on a 9500/120 with 32 MB RAM and I want to
configure XFree86.
In i386 platform, I used to configure XFree86 with "xf86config", but I didn't
found this script in powerpc platform.
Is there another way to configure XFree86 in Debian/PowerPC?

Hi all,
I've discovered with xev that the on/off button on a powerbook 12" G4 is
key number 222.
Would it be possible to map this key with xmodmap or with KDE to display
the KDE logout menu?
Thanks,
