Recently installed Debian on a new G4 PowerBook. Have had trouble getting X to
work.
I am using the 2.4.18-newpmac kernel and woody. My video card is the ATI
Mobility Radeon
7500. In XF86Config I have designated the Driver as 'ati'. 'startx' doesn't
seem to recognize my card.

Hello,
I'm using the ELDK from www.denx.de/ELDK for the ppc_8xx target -- it was very
easy to
download and setup !
I'm trying to build the 2.4.4 kernel that comes with ELDK
(..eldk/ppc_8xx/usr/src/linux).
My board is a RPX_LITE-DW (w/ a 823e PPC) from embedded planet.

You may remember that the debian end of things was looking OK and so
the lack of a "\" key in Open Firmware was thought to be a symptom
that may lead to the cause of the boot failure.
Well I put a request for help with Open Firmware on the Apple
discussion board but nothing of any use came bac
As I said, the error log is empty.
The /etc/init.d/apache basically starts up apache with apachectl.
Trying it at the command line does this:

You should try the "apachectl" control utility. Try some of the
"config
I've had problems with apache all along and really want to fix it.
I have the regular woody apache deb installed but it doesn't always
start on boot and when I try to start it at /etc/init.d/apache it
appears to be starting and then the process dies a couple of seconds
later.

You could try Branden's 4.2.0 packages and/or different kernels to see
if they make a difference. Or maybe another Voo

Hello,
I tried to mount two partitions; first one is hfs, without system,
and mount -t hfs /dev/hda12 /mac -r
works.
Same thing on hda13 leads to a /mac containing only some files,
and no directory... Is it because it holds a System dir ?
or is it a hfs+ volume ?

Would one of the people who got the ibook2 modem working care to tke the

I'm in a vicious circle cos I don't want to switch to Linux until the
modem is working (a Linux box that can't get onto the net is kinda silly,
no?) but on the other hand it seems I need net acces
