Some further information: I managed to find a way to log out of x
using function and arrow keys and the log still refers to Cannot open
device /dev/input/mice and the protocol is ImPS/2 although I had
selected "Auto" - seemed like a good idea at the time ;-)

Ok, ok, so my math was bad, but both WDM & XDM like to have it, that's
at least 50% (gdm,kdm,wdm,xdm) :P
FWIW, xdm can be made to work by setting:
'DisplayManager*authorize: false' in /etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config for those
of us who perfer a lightweight login process. :)

No, Tuomas has a PowerBook II with an M6.

Sleep support for the graphics chip has always been 'only' a matter of
the framebuffer device.

Nevermind, I got it working by changing the "Group" parameter to 'video'
instead of 'dri', and adding myself to the 'video' group.

Does this work with the powerbook DVI? Is it only for the frame buffer
driver? Let me in on the secret! :)

Ok, I've got the DRI radeon code to work, I get a:
"RADEON(0): Direct rendering enabled" in my XFree86.log, however when I
do a 'glxinfo' I get a: "libGL error: failed to open DRM: Operation not
permitted". What am I missing? Do I still need to set the
LIBGL_DRIVERS_PATH or something?

Hello,
I have bought few weeks ago an IBM RS/6000 43P workstation.
I wanted to change the operating system for Debian. So I looked on
the website to find where to download the corresponding ISO files to my
workstation model.
I must admit that it is much more easi
Hello,
few days ago, I wrote the italian ibook keymap for the linux shell, and
an xmodmap's file for X.
Now the keyboard works fine. I'd like to share these files to other
people, or to include the files in to the next release of debian-powerpc.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
JDK 1.4.X does NOT exist for ppc Linux from Blackdown (or anywhere else
that I know of yet)/
I am one of the Blackdown ports for ppc Linux so I would know.
If anyone wants a JDK 1.4 from Blackdown (with mozilla plugin) we are going
to need volunteers who know ppc assembly well.
So we ar

I know they are available as .deb for i386, i read it in a mail
somewhere, but not if they exist for ppc.

Hi,
No, and it won't be unless IBM does it or Blackdown gets an infusion of
volunteers that want to help port HotSpot to ppc (people who know ppc
assembler well). If you know anyone who wants to help port HotSpot to PPC

Hi,
I've a problem with RTF files generated by TextEdit on MacOSX.
I can't open them later on Linux. I tried with Abiword et Kword but
always got a message telling there's a problem with the RTF file.
Do I need to modify TextEdit preferences in a way ?
Any solution ?

thanks but that doesn't happen here. Moz is still dead after
removing the .mozilla dir.
It worked once for me after the initial installation. i've removed
it and reinstalled it but it's never worked again.

Hello,
had the problem two. If you can control the main volume with kmix (for
example), you can just switch in xmms' options "Control Main Volume
instead of Wave volume" (or something similiar).
Hope it helps,
