K, logcheck was working fine for some time...
I upgraded my x86 version of Debian logcheck package, and things were just
fine... Then I started getting TWO email reports. I tested that it's not
sendmail going nuts: mail -s "this is a test" root ... and I got, as
expected, only one email... I c

That's too little information, but anyway you needn't build it yourself:

Hi people.
Did anyone find this problem trying to compile xfree 4.2.0?
/usr/bin/ld: cannot open crt1.o: No such file or directory

That's not worked either. devalias tells me that
ide0 is set to /pci/mac-io/[EMAIL PROTECTED] so I do...
setenv boot-device ide0/[EMAIL PROTECTED]:9
then try booting by typing "boot" but it give a similar error...
typing in the whole path does me no good either
Question, if I can eventually

Actually I am using quik (rather trying to). When I tried to use yaboot, it
told me that Oldworld machines were not supported. Of course I could have

It's probably looking for boot information there. Are you using
yaboot? Probably. What's in /etc/yaboot.conf?
I got mine working without havi
I've seen several postings dealing with booting PowerPC's and have seen

Turn off support for ADB keycodes when building the kernel. The
option is CONFIG_MAC_ADBKEYCODES, make sure it's OFF in the .config
file.

You may want to e-mail PPC-specific questions to the debian-powerpc list
instead of debian-laptop.
The group is fairly active and lots of helpful folks are lurking around in
there... I'll cross-post this for you, but definitely sign up for that
list if you're going to be using PPC Debian. It's wor

Unfortunately the EATA PIO protocol just works for 16 bits transfers,
so inw is the only option.
le16_to_cpu(inw()) should give the expected result for both BE and LE.
Since the detection routine checks for both "EATA" and "ATAE" signatures,
all should be fine if immediately after the test
