Hello, this in reference to something on the debian-powerpc list that you did
in October 2001. I've successfully netbooted, but now I want to mount my /
directory (partition? I've only got / and /usr as partitions) from the server
to the client so t

Yes

Hello
I will install a non-Debian software which requires glibc 2.2.4 or greater.
How can I find out if glibc is already installed. And if not, how can I
install glibc 2.2.4? I tried "apt-get install glibc" but it did not work
(error message).
Thanks for helping, Roland

Alright, the unmaskirq thing made a world of difference here. Before when
i would tar zxvf a large 50+ MB file, the system would become _extremely_
unresponsive. Now the machine doesn't hiccup.

I've also been running my iBook with interrupts unmasked for many months
without problems.
Is it possible to get UDMA66 working on the iBook? My version of the kernel
configures the drive for UDMA33. I did try forcing it to UDMA66 using hdparm,
and it utterly toasted the filesystem ;( I doubt it

Have you tryed to tune some parameters with hdparm?
Mine looks like that
/dev/hda:
multcount= 0 (off)
I/O support = 0 (default 16-bit)
unmaskirq= 0 (off)
using_dma= 1 (on)
keepsettings = 0 (off)
nowerr = 0 (off)
readonly = 0 (off)
readahead= 8 (on)

Hi,
(please Cc: me as I am not on the list)
I recently found an old DOS-Compatibility card from Apple, which I took
away as it didn't work with MacOS>8
I was wondering if I could use it under Linux - I run potato standard with
kernel 2.2.19 on a 6400 Performa.
Best Regards,
Simon

I only have 'video=atyfb'. I attached the configfile which works for me.

Should be properly probed from OF EDID with my latest kernels.

The Debian package kernel-patch-benh has old BenH kernels since
2.4.10. You just need the appropriate vanilla kernel source.
