man make-kpkg

man patch

How does one apply a kernel-
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could recommend an encoder for me?
I use grip as a front end, and tried oggenc from vorbis-tools but I can
only encode at half realtime!
I have only used mp3 encoders before on intel systems, so maybe this is
just a sign that ogg is a more complex transformation tha

That did it, thanks! (Thanks also to Daniel J.)
Perhaps this should be mentioned in the PPC setup docs?

Hello,
I have built IPC and Enigmail 0.49.1 (though it calls itself 0.49.2) for
Linux/PowerPC systems for Mozilla 1.0RC1. It's at
gopher://quux.org/1/devel/debian/mozilla or
http://quux.org:70/devel/debian/mozilla.

Hi,
I have a titanium Powerbook G4. This laptop does not have a key that
sends "delete". It has a "delete" key, but Linux uses it as Backspace.
Mozilla's mail/news reader wants to use a "delete" key for deleting a
message. How can I fake a delete key?

You need to use 15 bit color depth. I had the same problem.
My Mac's not on right now or I could get you the XF86Config-4. Try configuring
it yourself for 15 bit, and if you can't I'll boot it up later and post my config.

Hey folks--
XServer insists on rendering "solarized" colors in 16bpp mode. My
experience has been that this usually results from bad color maps. I've
tried just about everything I can think of, but without success. I've
searched the archives, but couldn't find a thread discussing this
problem.

Hi
I'm having trouble getting a custom-compiled kernel to work on a G4
450Mhz SMP Mac. I first tried the 'kernel-image-2.4.18-powerpc-smp'
package, but this didn't work as I needed the AIC7XXX driver compiled
in, not as a module, due to my root fs being on an Adaptec scsi card.
kernel-image

AFAIK sleep support isn't well tested on the 2400. It may be subtly
different fron the 340
This is a good trick but does not always work. It's a good argument for
having full mirrors. I realize we can't impose too heavy requirements,
but it would be very useful to be able to identify sites which are
incomplete and sites which carry the full mirror of that particular
release.

Sure, a link from the install notes to the CD FAQ would be good. A short
paragraph with the highlights plus a link would be even better. Keep in
mind that (at least 3 years ago) your average web page has 20 links. So
the likelihood that a new person will 'click their way forth' to the right
