I am looking at installing debian on my powerbook g4 667.
I have downloaded the current powerpc images from ftp.planetmirror.com.au which
i assume are 2.2rev5.
When I boot off the CD I get
"invalid parition 1 signature".

The hfs-boot-floppy is not a linux boot floppy (please read the powerpc install

Folks--
I've been finding that tar (to a tape) is hanging the system. "tar" to
a file works fine.
The hang always comes at the start of the process before the anything is
written to the tape. It's a hard hang ^C doesn't work and a system
reboot is required. Even "init 0" from a console hang
Here we go. I used ksymoops to get this far. I don't what the oops.file is
supposed to be, so for now we'll leave that off. Here's the output of running
ksymoops...
ksymoops 2.3.4 on ppc 2.4.18. Options used
