Hello everyone,
I've got an interesting problem: when I boot, using the 2.4.8-pre3-ben0
kernel, my console starts out being neon green, and the text messages that
are printed to the console not just in different neon colors, but also are
cut in half, with the top on bottom, of each letter. In o

Byte swapping audio in the kernel? From what I've heard, this is a no-no.
I'm pretty sure Linus and Alan Cox both agree that this is purely a
userspace task, and any attempt to move this into the kernel will be
met with great resistence.

Hmm no, still doesn't work. Thanks very much for trying. Maybe if you've
had better luck you could put the kernel and modules somewhere that i can

I am using benh.
I have just upgraded to 2.4.8-pre7-ben0. The compilation
went smoothly, and I am now giving it a go. It looks OK.
The only difficulty is the trackpad; I have to say
"trackpad drag" in order to use it properly.
On the packages, I am afraid the problem is still there.
