This conflicts with the system boot messages below: mouse1 is
tied to input0 which is the mouse button emulation

Is there a /usr/lib/yaboot/ofboot in the installer filesystem, or would
that be on /target/usr/lib/yaboot/ofboot
I haven't been following this thread, but I also had problems with my

When I try to change OF by

You mean you get no audio. That is becuase it uses a digital connection. Try

I had been trying to update to the gnome 1.2 packages
in unstable without luck (gnome-panel and gnome-panel-data

the player work, but the mixer cannot control the volume of cdaudio.
Xmms work fine (the integrated volume control don't work, so I need to
change it from Mixer.)
Another related problem is that no audio signal out from the speakers.

Ethan many thanks for your reply to my adbmouse. I am a complete
newbie to linux and to Debian in particular. I have successfully
installed PPC2000 and Suse on my other machines both Macs. I wanted
to use Debian because I want to understand the processes of Linux.

They are a completely different architecture, and you don't boot them
with BootX or miBoot, but from OpenFirmware.

I've got a Keyspan USB to Serial converter (2 x mini 8 DIN) and want to
use it to connect to an RS232 port on another machine. I've downloaded
the source for kernel 2.4.2 and compiled in the Keyspan driver as a
module but I don't actually know how to use it with minicom. Do I use a
