I want to install debian (or any PPC Linux for that matter, I am
becoming very desperate) on my PowerBook 3400.
LinuxPPC can't install because I can't partition my hard drive.
Debian can't install because (why oh why???) the CD isn't
bootable! (at least, the binary-powerpc-1.iso

i just compiled 2.2.17 from ftp.kernel.org and it works fine on my
friends 7200 booted with quik, first one since 2.2.14. no patching
required.
this kernel is also the first one to work on my blue g3 without any
patching. finally i can compile kernels for powerpc just like i can
