is anyone else having install-info seg fault? it seems to be a bug in libz.

Thanks Michel for replying while I'm away from my computer (heh!).
I compiled this XFree86 4.0.1 on a Debian Potato to which I made no major
changes. It is a tarball that unpacks in /usr/X11R6.4 (and not /usr/X11R6), so
shouldn't hurt too much dpkg (a rm -rf /usr/X11R6.4 is enough to remo
I've completed the basic installation from the rescue floppy ramdisk,
but when I turn the ramdisk off and tell BootX to boot with /dev/sda5
(my Linux native partition) as root, I get the following error message:
Kernel panic: no init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.
