Sorry if I missed something, but why don't you just use BootX?

Hi,
First, thanks to everyone who worked on the Powerpc port. The
installation worked great !
I got tired of RPM hell via Linuxppc and YDL, and so far, Debian
is working nicely..until I get to X. Perhaps someone could help me out
here.. The machine can't seem to find a valid video mode to start
I missed to attach OF configuration of Guillaume. Here it is.

Thanks for your help. In the meantime I even got a nvsetenv output from
Guillaume for the 9500 (attached). Mine is basically the same (differences
also attached). But is see still the black screen (and the system does not

What kernel version do you run?
Michael
It seems to me, that the first PowerPC image on ftp.fsn.hu in
/pub/CDROM-Image/debian-unofficial is broken. On CD 1, base2_2.tgz in the
discs-powerpc subdirectory extracts only with crc errors.
Rainer.
Hello!
thanks for taking care of making those debs, that's nice. I just tried
Dl them, but it seems you forgot to make the Packages.gz list. Therefore
apt-get does not work (ast least on my machine)
this is what I get:

I installed potato last month, and just about everything works fine. The
exterior of the set, however, is X. Running XF68_FBDev at a known functional
resolution (both through the mess o' possibilities in the default XF86Config
and with one specific resolution), the screen is (usually and mostly)
