Thanks to Brendan and Daniel and the archives, I got the thing going.
Just in case somebody is listening, here is what I did:
- using an YDL CD, I partitioned the disk into one Mac partition and
two linux ones (plus a linux swap of course). I actually wnet on to
install YDL on the second part

I've built pcmcia packages for powerpc (try saying that five times
fast!), using the archive's source packages. I used:
pcmcia-cs-3.1.4-1
kernel-image-2.2.15pre20-1
kernel-source-2.2.15pre19-2
kernel-patch-powerpc-2422-2.2.15pre20-1
The only change I had to make was in the linux source's mak

Note, the only thing you need to recompile in binutils for a cross compile
is ld and gas, as long as you install the binutils-multiarch package. Just
so you don't have to go and do too much work :)

Hi,
I'm in the process of building cross (i386 -> powerpc) versions
of
binutils
gcc
as Debian packages.
I'm already quite familiar with creating cross versions of these using
./configure and make.
I'm currently climbing the learning curve for Debian packaging, and how
binutils and gc
I'd like to know the status of the USB-support in debian-powerpc port.
I'm currently using the Potato release (kernel 2.2.14) with the
USB-backport from kernel 2.3.99pre6 (see
"http://www.suse.cz/development/usb-backport/";) on an i386, since my
USB-keyboard/-mouse definitly needs this backport. Wh
