I had a problem like this once on an old 7100 or 7200 (I can't
rember which -- it was a nubus machine with an 80Mhz 601 PPC
I think) and it turned out that xscreensaver was causing the
X display server to crash. The nice thing was that xscreensaver
was nice enough to give some message when I ran
I just installed woody on my 7200 with a 15'' multiple scan display. For the
x window, I installed xserver-common, xerver-fbdev, xbase-client, xfs-xtt,
xfonts-base, xfonts-100,75 scalabe. as well as the icewm window manager. The
default XF86Config does not work until I change the default mode fr
(cc:'d to debian-boot because of netfetch problems)
