So I've been taking some random stabs at the kernel running on this
thing (the RS6000), and I'm wondering what lists I should be on to get
informed about what the status of things is, what is happening, etc..
I noticed, for instance, that 2.3.18 doesn't compile out of the box.

possible version. Can somebody give me any information about this task ?

the problem I was having was that he "currrent" base tar file is screwed, so I
checked the list archive and found a message from matt porter saying exactly
that -- the current .tgz was broken. Matt porter's .tgz file works much better:
