This problem has plagued me since switching over to Debian from
Linux/PPC. I've only seen one other report.
Occasionally, when switching from one virtual console to another, I
get screens full of "FB. overflow: <###>" where ### is an integer of
increasing sequence. Attempts to do anything past t

I need to get X running but I can't find the right data to put in the
XF86Config file (startx --> no valid video mode).
The machine is a 7500 (604e), AppleVision750 monitor, and I'd be happy
with just 1024 x 768 75Hz. I have unsuccessfully been trying to change
the XF86Config.eg example file

I suggest you get Paul Mackerras stable tree via rsync. You'll get
Hi Timo,
Re: ethernet
the kernel I use is 2.2.10. Yesterday I managed to install the
Debian base via ftp, so eth works also for Debian. The kernel
is the same I used for LinuxPPC (redhat) and was patched against
"http://www.terraplex.com/~dburcaw/bmac.patch";. Despite this,
as you can see from

I'm trying to finish up a debian installation on a PowerBook G3/400
(Lombard), but am having a lot of trouble with both X and the
trackpad.
Can anyone help me figure out how to configure both? Preferably, can you
send me your XF86Config and gpm.conf files (and which versions of both
your using

Good! Probably a newer kernel now. I used the 2.2.6 from LinuxPPC in
mid July. And tried the patch with the 2.2.10 vger kernel source but
it didn't work (The MMU error [Kernel panic]
