The purpose it would serve is greater transparency, which promotes trust.
Glenn
metadata into multiple parts once it was downloaded
we could more easily target the needs of different packaging tools.
Storing lots of small files locally uses more disk space, this could be
overcome by splitting/joinging and/or compression on the different types
of metdata.

s a wishlist bug should be filed against lintian to
check for this, too.

want people to have.
'crippled' is a negative word, and may cause some small initial confusion,
but we can use it to our advantage, and it should be less confusing than
non-US.
(All this is mute if they do get merged, but im not going to hold my breath
watiing for that)

e interpreted to mean this
is the software that isnt allowed in the US, or that non-US is the stuff
that people who arent from the US can use (and they cant use main
because it is for the US).
Maybe im simple, cause the meaning of non-US caused me some confusion
when i first encountered it, and confusing potential users before they
even download debian is a bad thing.

We don't quite agree here, but that is a tad off for this discussion
group. ;-}

I'm not sure I follow you on this. Term limits are good because they
make volunteers step down rather than being voted out
ell of a job and is now getting smashed on the Net for doing so. Look
at your screen and decide if you want to be reaping the benefits of
Bruce and all the other Debian developers or Bill Gates's "work". If
you want term limits, think about Bill, not Bruce.
