I recently did the following bug report on kodi-bin because of broken
dependencies: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=912994
I just saw that in Ubuntu, they are depending on libavcodec58 for their
last version of kodi-bin (see https://packages.ubuntu.com/fr/cosmic/kodi-bin)

That is the response I was expecting, and I understand upstream reasons,
but I do not fully aggree with this reasoning.
I found -hide_banner option that basically do what I am asking for,
